19.47 Program

Join the Veterans Alliance by signing on to the 19.47 program

In 1947, large numbers of World War II veterans pursued college degrees through the GI Bill of that era, and this demand prompted the Florida legislature to convert the Florida State College for Women to coeducational Florida State University. In other words, veterans were instrumental to the founding of our distinguished university!

You can maintain Florida State’s proud heritage and commitment to veterans by joining the Florida State Veterans Alliance! With a donation of just $19.47 per month, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the FSU Veterans Alliance and receive regular updates including news, events and activities. Moreover, your sustained monthly gift of $19.47 will strengthen and grow the university’s nationally renowned veterans programs, and at an amount that also salutes the year that forever changed Florida State’s student body.

Veterans Legacy Complex • The Veterans Legacy Complex will house the Institute on World War II and the Human Experience, the university’s Student Veterans Center, and the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) facility. Currently, these three units are housed in separate locations on campus, which limits the sense of community among student veterans, their peers and Florida State supporters. The incredible levels of success our student veterans are achieving provide unique opportunities to permanently entrench Florida State as the national leader for student-veteran support and success, and more so with the construction of this one-of-a-kind facility!

FSU Emeritus Society Student Veteran Academic Excellence Scholarship • This university Emeritus Alumni Society endowed scholarship is awarded annually to the undergraduate student-veteran with the best academic performance relative to other students in their major.

Student Veteran Emergency Fund • A reserve source of funding managed by the Student Veterans Center that assists FSU student veterans whose personal financial situation has become dire. Funds are allocated judiciously and confidentially, and past recipients have conveyed that without this support, their college careers would almost certainly have ended.

Veterans Center General Fund • General fund to support resources and activities across the entire spectrum of the Florida State Veterans Campaign.
