Important to student veterans’ post-graduation success is effectively conveying their military experiences and skills into civilian careers. Most employers highly value the qualities veterans acquired through their military service, and many express a preference for hiring veterans. The Career Center provides resources and services to showcase veterans’ attributes – for civilian employment or when applying for graduate school – on its webpage for FSU student veterans.

In addition to providing information and guidance on Florida State’s 220+ master’s, specialist, doctoral and professional degree programs, the Graduate School also includes the Office of Graduate Fellowships and Awards (OGFA), which assists students in identifying and applying for external fellowships, scholarships, grants, and awards. OGFA also manages the GradImpact Profiles, which allows students to record their graduate student experience at FSU through video, written narratives, and a podcast. A number of Northwest Florida military bases are in proximity to the FSU Panama City campus, and its Veteran Services include the James and Cameron Skinner Veterans Ready Room (A212 Holley Academic Center), which provides a dedicated space for military-connected students to meet, study, socialize or just decompress. In addition, the PC campus’s Academic Advising & Student Success Center (C117 Holley Academic Center) provides support and services to veteran/military/dependent students. Veterans' Entrepreneurship Programs

FSU’s Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, in conjunction with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University, offers entrepreneurship training programs for veterans and their family members. The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans Accelerate (EBV Accelerate) program provides veteran business owners the tools and coaching needed to propel their business to the next level of sustainable growth. The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans' Families (EBV-Families) program is an education and self-employment training program that provides cutting-edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management for immediate family members and caregivers of veterans.
