Funded by the Department of Defense, SMART scholarships provide full-tuition funding, annual stipends and book/health allowances to active-military students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Veteran and active service member of both pre- and post-9/11
Service members who wish to start, finish, or further their needs
Those whose benefits have run out or do not meet their needs
Those enrolled as a full-time student at a U.S. institution of higher learning
Service members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve
Service members pursuing undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, 2-year, 4-year, public private, vocational, and trade degrees or certifications

FRA is proud to support America's future leaderships by awarding more than $100,000 annually in scholarships to deserving students
- FRA scholarships are awarded to FRA members, their spouses, children, and grandchildren

Candidates must be in final one/two years of full time or co-op undergraduate or one year graduate program in engineering or physical science
Must be a U.S. citizen

Full-time students with exceptional financial need pursuing a degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing or other health-related disciplines.

Scholarship covers complete tuition, books and stipend of up to $2,060 per month
Two, three and four-year programs available
Scholarship applicants should be submitted at the same time as the medical school application
One year payback in the armed forces for each year in the program
